Playstation Vita "Driver software was not successfully installed" MTP USB device failed - FIXED with instructions
I'm trying to put movies and music on my PSV via my PC, I installed the content manager and it's running. When I plug my vita into my PC a message comes up saying "installing device driver software" Then it says "Device driver software was not successfully installed" I've uninstalled my USB drivers and the vita drivers, checked for updates, uninstalled content manager and tried reinstalling it through the vita all with no luck... It clearly isn't working because the drivers arn't installed, I have windows 7 64bit... Is anybody else having this issue? or know of a fix or how to manually install the driver software? Thanks in advance ! MTP usb device failed was the issue, not my version of Windows. If you have the same issue follow these steps: 1.Disconnect the Playstation Vita from the PC/Laptop 2.Run Cmd as an administrator (right click-run as administrator) 3.Type in the following command: net localgroup Administrators local service /add 4.Hit enter 5.Plug the Playstation Vita into PC/Laptop and it should install the first time... Could somebody please help me out. I have tried all of these fixes listed on the page. I have installed CMA remotely from the webpage. I have installed CMA from the auto load file, pre-loaded on the VITA. I am running Windows 7 on a Sony Vaio PC. I have changed USB ports. I have uninstalled the driver, reinstalled the driver and attempted typing in the command sequence while running CMA as an administrator. The command comes back as please specify location, and or access denied. I am the PC administrator. This is very frustrating. I have searched all ove the net for alternative fixes and can find nothing. The bad part is that I can connect to the CMA via my PSVITA on my work computer, but because its my work computer, I dont want to do that.......What are my options here.....
That is typically a driver problem for your USB adapter on the it shows up as PS Vita Type B in device manager and then a second later changes to.
